brief history

Formerly known as DubStylist, current members of the band have been together since the summer of 2006. Recently, the number of players was reduced by one - Yukari Mori, our sax player, unfortunately had to return to Japan. We wish her all the best and hope to hook up with her again sometime in the future.

The idea began in the summer of 2003. Dubstylist (Alex Espinoza, Kahn Nomura) began and we came out with our first album Say No to $ using the aliases 'Poorman Stylist & Mr No Tears'. Our second album, The Mighty Dub Machine, was released and achieved acclaim from dub heads all over the world. Tracks like The Might Dub Invasion, In the Valley, and Heavy Rock were favs of DubStylists all over.

2005 brought new ideas, new sound, live performances and a new member to the DubStylist crew. This new member goes by the name of Colin Crawford (Guitars/Back Up Vocals). Our First show was on November 25th at The Trinport. We played with fellow dub heads I Dub New York. The night was a success and it was only a sign of things to come in 2006, a year that ultimately changed the Dubstylist sound and feel forever. Ska was our drug of choice and with it came the name change and three new members. Fumio (drums), Izzy Gruvindeepman (trumpet/keys), Yukari Mori (tenor sax).

The Rudy Dubs. Peace.
